For Commune de Paris – the rebellious and edgy label created by three Parisian creators of fashion and product design – Astier de Villatte and Françoise Caron have imagined Cologne 1871, a subversive Eau de Cologne. At first, it hits like an explosion of Sicily lemons, with rosemary and bergamot. But under its acid and cheeky exterior, Cologne 1871 hides the ineffable charm of the powdery scents characteristic of its time. Suave labdanum, benzoin, cedar wood and patchouli are combined with the first two synthetic molecules ever created by man – coumarin that smells like cut grass, and benzalehide that smells like almonds – giving it a unique flavor.
A pure creation by Françoise Caron, its impeccable manners hide a fiery temperament. A subtle balance of white flowers, ylang-ylang, crushed rose, mysterious tuberose, alongside the fresh, nervous intensity or rosemary, basil, thyme, lemon petit grain and lavender.
A fresh splash that would energize and enliven even Sleeping Beauty. Frank, direct, addictive, it is each morning’s shockwave. Fusing verbena, aromatic lavender, rosemary, basil, and the lightness of a flower note. Add a trace of benzoin for long-lasting freshness.
Like a flash of lightning, an incisive and dainty fusion inside a cocktail of citrus, sweet orange, the most elegant bergamot, and lemon’s greenest accents. And, as it develops on the skin, it becomes increasingly appealing, with a mouth-watering note of aromatic herbs and patchouli, like clean sunshine.
An incredible, euphoric scent of wild plants and medicinal herbs. A concentrate of the warm aromatic emanations of woods, the spicy smell of clove and wormwood, the fresh notes of lavender and petit grain, the formula for this elixir is inspired by a very ancient and invigorating recipe. Its herbal trail is long-lasting.
An enchanting smell escapes the bottle and suddenly fills the air: it is the age-old linden that shades the garden of painter Balthus’s atelier, at Grand Chalet, high up in the Swiss alps. A tribute to the artist and his favorite scent, bask in this Cologne’s delightful redolence of honey, milk and slight hints of lemon. And in the end, a slight trail of blond wood and vanilla remains.
